Abstract

Nusa Penida had been fully inhabited by humans and was potential for some various fauna
since Pleistosen period. This research discusses specimens from the suidae family found in
Nusa Penida. Since Prehistoric times wild boar had become mandkind’s favorite food hunt.
The presence of butchering and arson activity indicated that humans utilized wild boars. The
general purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between the bone remains of wild
boars from the Gua Gede Site and human activity. Anatomical identification was conducted
to identify the specification of the quantity and age variations found on wild boar specimens
at site. Meanwhile, user trace analysis was carried out to see evidence of subsistence strategy
of the inhabitants of Gua Gede Site.
